Q: When is/will be the next workshop in my area?
A: To view the schedule of available workshops, please perform the following steps:
- Visit our web site at www.usgbc.org/courses
- In the dropdown above the first course name, select “USGBC Courses First,” then narrow your search by selecting within the Subject, Format, Duration, and Course Level boxes.
- To navigate directly to a specific course type, use the links below to check for course availability in your area:
Please note that our calendar is updated regularly, and workshops are usually scheduled at least 2-3 months in advance.
If you do not see a workshop currently scheduled in your area, we encourage you to contact your local USGBC chapter or affiliate for more information about potential and upcoming workshops and to express interest in a particular workshop type. USGBC chapters and affiliates determine the workshops we schedule in specific regions. You can find your local USGBC Chapter by visiting our website at www.usgbc.org/chapters.
Q: How do I register for a workshop?
A: To register yourself for a workshop, make sure that you are logged into your personal USGBC Site User Account. If you have already created a site user account, click on the Sign In link in the upper right-hand corner of the page and sign into your account. If you have not created a Site User Account, click on the “New to USGBC? Please create a site user account to gain full access to USGBC.org” link above the login fields to set up an account. Type your contact information into the appropriate fields, as well as your company’s corporate access ID if it is a USGBC National Member company. Once you are logged in, click the “Register” link next to your preferred workshop to access our registration site. The first time you visit this site, you will be required to enter your account information. You will then be able to register either as an individual or to purchase multiple registrations (for colleagues) which can be redeemed by the individuals through a registration code.
Q: When I register for a workshop, I am charged the non-member fee even though I am a member. How do I get the member rate?
A: If you do not receive the member rate for a LEED workshop, your account has not been linked to your company’s national membership. Please note that the member rate for workshops only applies to individuals who are full-time employees of a USGBC National Member company. If you know your company is a USGBC National Member, please obtain your company’s corporate access ID from your primary contact and add it into your USGBC site user account before proceeding with your registration. If you are a National Member and your purchase has already been processed as a Non-member, please contact LEEDeducation@usgbc.org (include the course you registered for) to validate your Membership and to reprocess your registration.
If you are a member of a USGBC chapter, but not employed by a USGBC National Member company, the member rate does not apply.
Q: What is USGBC’s Refund & Cancellation Policy for LEED Workshops?
A: Refund and Cancellation Policy
Cancellations
If you are unable to attend a workshop for which you have registered, you may cancel your registration up to and including eight days prior to the workshop date, and you will be charged a cancellation fee equal to 20% of the total workshop registration amount. No refunds will be given for cancellations that are requested less than eight days prior to the workshop date.
To cancel your registration, login to workshops.usgbc.org and select “My Account.” Within the “Purchased Items” box, click on the “Cancel this item” icon, at which point you will be prompted to confirm your cancellation, including acceptance of the cancellation fee. When you click “Continue,” the cancellation will be processed and you will receive an email notification including an attached invoice.
Should USGBC have to cancel the workshop, attendees may choose to receive a 100% refund or to transfer their registration to another scheduled workshop. Registered attendees will be notified of the workshop cancellation by USGBC via email.
Transfers and Substitutions
Attendees may request to transfer a workshop registration a maximum of one time. To request a transfer, submit your request in writing to LEEDeducation@usgbc.org up to and including eight days prior to the original workshop date, and your transfer will be processed. You may not transfer your registration less than eight prior to the workshop date. Transfers are subject to availability and must be for a workshop of the same monetary value.
Attendees are allowed one substitution request per workshop registration. If you would like a colleague to replace you at the workshop, email your request to LEEDeducation@usgbc.org and the substitution will be processed. Your replacement must be employed by the same company.
There are NO refunds for the purchase of any Reference Guide or online course.
Q: How many continuing education credits can I receive for attending a workshop?
A: USGBC is an approved continuing education provider for the following NATIONAL professional organizations: GBCI, AIA, CSI, IDCEC, BOMI, IFMA, and CoreNet, among others. For specific information on which courses are approved for continuing education as well as their credit value, please visit www.usgbc.org/courses and search the course listings using the “Select Credits” feature.
USGBC reports directly to AIA and CSI. As a national organization, USGBC does not apply to individual states' licensing entities; however, many state-level professional organizations approve USGBC LEED courses for continuing education credits. Attendees who are members of other national or state organizations typically earn credits by using a requested certificate of completion to self-report their attendance. As always, we recommend contacting the professional organization(s) to which you belong to confirm that USGBC workshops are accepted as continuing education.
